UPS systems play a crucial role in research and development facilities. EPS Electric Power Systems, Borri’s official partner in Austria, has successfully commissioned two Ingenio MAX 200 kVA/200 kW high-efficiency UPS systems, each equipped with an external bypass switch and batteries, at the High Tech Campus in Villach, Austria. The installation was carried out by Elin, the customer’s long-standing electrical engineering partner, in collaboration with EPS service team. Borri UPS systems guarantee today maximum operational continuity for one of Austria’s leading research centres.

The High Tech Campus Villach (HTCV) focuses on electronics, microelectronics, and mechatronics, housing various companies, start-ups, and research institutes across a 9,000-square-meter area. One of its main tenants, Silicon Austria Labs, required a reliable power supply system for its cleanroom processes. A power failure could potentially damage highly sensitive equipment or compromise valuable research results.

“The requirements of our clients are extremely demanding. Time-critical research projects and sensitive equipment need maximum supply security. With the Borri UPS systems provided by EPS, we have found the perfect solution and made an important step toward future reliability. Our users enjoy a secure power supply, allowing us to better fulfil our role as an innovation centre.” says Bernhard Lamprecht, Managing Director of the High Tech Campus Villach.

Efficient Power Supply for Sensitive Research

Borri Ingenio MAX 200 kVA/200 kW UPS, provided by EPS, stand out due to their high energy efficiency, low mean time between failures (MTBF), parallel capability, and compact design. This allows for efficient and space-saving integration into the existing infrastructure while meeting the highest availability requirements. The two external bypass switches ensure a complete uninterruptible bypass of the UPS systems during maintenance or replacement without disrupting ongoing operations.

“We are proud to be part of this significant project. With the Ingenio MAX systems from Borri, we have implemented a solution that meets the needs for space, efficiency, and maximum reliability.” emphasizes Peter Reisinger, Managing Director and Sales Manager at EPS. “The collaboration with strong partners such as Elin and the Italian UPS manufacturer Borri highlights our commitment to delivering the best solutions for our customers.”

Experience and Expertise in Seamless Implementation

The systems were installed by Elin, a long-time partner of Technologiepark Villach | HTCV in the field of electrical engineering. “The demands in the buildings of the High-Tech Campus Villach and its tenants were high, but together with EPS and Borri solutions, we successfully met them. EPS’s expertise and reliability were crucial in ensuring that the project ran smoothly.” states Jürgen Stern, Site Manager Klagenfurt at Elin.

“Our success with the Borri Ingenio MAX UPS project at the High Tech Campus Villach highlights the strong collaboration between Borri and EPS. We are thankful to the High Tech Campus for trusting Borri solutions to secure their critical processes.” concludes Luca Capello, Europe Sales Manager at Borri. “This partnership emphasizes our commitment to providing reliable and efficient power solutions that meet the highest standards of our clients.”

This new UPS solution not only offers stability and efficiency but also supports the High Tech Campus Villach in its role as a hub for technological innovation.
