  • Powering Healthcare in Kazakhstan with Ingenio MAX

Powering Healthcare in Kazakhstan with Ingenio MAX

Powering Healthcare in Kazakhstan with Ingenio MAX

by Borri spa / Monday, 27 April 2026 / Published in Case study

Healthcare facilities are among the most demanding environments when it comes to electrical reliability. Even the briefest power disturbance can compromise patient safety and interrupt the operation of sensitive, life-saving equipment.

Modern hospitals rely on an increasingly digital and electrically intensive infrastructure, ranging from surgical robotics and imaging technologies (MRI, CT, ultrasound) to electronic medical records, intensive care units and laboratory diagnostics. For this reason, power protection systems must ensure:

  • Zero interruption continuity for critical loads
  • High electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) to avoid interference with medical devices
  • Capability to withstand power surges, typical of imaging equipment
  • Integration with hospital monitoring systems (BMS)
  • High maintainability, with front access and easy service operations

Our UPS solutions are specifically engineered to meet these requirements, ensuring uninterrupted operation of life support devices, diagnostic equipment, emergency lighting, and hospital IT systems.

Enhancing Power Resilience Across Several Hospitals in Almaty

Together with Quwatt, Borri official partner in Kazakhstan, we contributed to upgrading the energy infrastructure of several hospitals in Almaty. The project covered multiple large medical facilities requiring robust backup solutions and long term operational reliability.

Quwatt managed every phase, from engineering and project management to installation and service, demonstrating exceptional technical competence and reinforcing our strong partnership.

Why Ingenio MAX was the Ideal Choice

For this project, Borri supplied several units from the Ingenio MAX range, our high performance three phase UPS systems (200–600 kVA) designed for mission critical environments.

Key advantages of Ingenio MAX include:

  • Patented 3 L Green Conversion for superior VFI efficiency and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Full output power (pf = 1) to support highly demanding medical loads without derating
  • Transformer free compact design with full front access, ideal for restricted technical rooms in hospitals
  • Low input distortion (THDi <3%) and 0.99 input PF, ensuring clean mains and compatibility with gensets commonly used in medical facilities
  • Flexible backup solutions, including VRLA, Ni Cd, and Li Ion batteries
  • Advanced battery care technologies to extend the service life of energy storage systems
  • Scalability, with up to 6 units in parallel for redundancy or power expansion
  • Comprehensive remote monitoring, essential for 24/7 healthcare operations

These features make Ingenio MAX perfectly suited for ensuring safety, compliance, energy efficiency, and continuous operation in healthcare infrastructures.
